We know that the current economy has many families struggling to make ends meet. Maybe you have an unexpected expense or want to save for Christmas. We’ve put together a list of some ways to earn some extra income on your schedule.
Search for unclaimed property! The Florida Division of Unclaimed Property hosts a website to search for unclaimed funds and they claim 1 in 5 Floridians has funds! Check their website here. You can also search on Missingmoney.com We did this in our office and two of our employees found money!
Cut out some subscriptions- This is a good time to look at what you pay monthly. I recently heard a statistic that most people think they spend an average of $50 per month on their subscriptions but most people are spending over $200 per month on their different subscriptions. Writing down each item and what you pay per month may help you realize if there is anything you can cut out.
Sell Unused or Unwanted Items- Try selling used household items, clothing, shoes, toys, and more on Facebook Marketing, the new version of a garage sale. It’s a little more work but you’ll find it should pay off. Or, do it the old-fashioned way and host a yard sale to get some extra spending cash.
Become a delivery driver- There are tons of platforms to explore with this. DoorDash, uber eats, Instacart, etc. This allows you to log in when you want to work and clock out on your timeframe. This will require you to have a mode of transportation ( in this area a car is likely required) and a valid driver's license. Amazon Flex- This is a delivery driver job but offering you the flexibility to pick up “blocks” at a time. You will need to have a vehicle and a valid driver's license but they advertise a pay rate of $18-25 per hour.
Dog Walker/Pet Sitting- There are a lot of animal lovers in our community and with the holiday season there is often a high demand for pet sitters and dog walkers while families are traveling. Getting yourself set up in the pet community is a great way to advertise your services.
Crafting- If you have a talent for crafting or a certain skill, then you can make some inventory and sell it online, through Facebook Marketplace, Esty (we’ve heard this is not as beneficial for small businesses anymore), Shopify, Amazon, TikTok.
Surveys- Taking surveys from the comfort of your couch to earn some extra money, Does it get any better? Just create an account, take surveys, and get paid. They give you the option to get paid through PayPal or direct deposit. Survey Junkie & Branded Surveys
Watching Viral Videos- Many of you scroll TickTok watching viral videos already so why not start getting paid to watch them? You are not going to get rich by doing this but it will help you earn a little extra money monthly.
